MJ Lenderman | Anti - Epitaph
Manning Fireworks is the fourth solo album by American singer and multi-instrumentalist MJ Lenderman. An insight into Lenderman's "frank observations on the intersection of wit and sadness”, it combines Lenderman’s dark humour and riveting storytelling. The craftsmanship from the North Carolinian Wednesday member is impeccable. Coproduced with frequent collaborator Alex Farrar, Lenderman’s punchlines are magnificent throughout. With incredible lyrical wit & delivery, this is another gem in an already impressive discography.

julie | Julie - Atlantic
With an eclectic collection of songs, my anti-aircraft friend is the debut studio album by American-Greenlandic shoegaze band julie. On their sound and approach to their first record, the OC trio said “We somewhat take the same approach of making art with making music, and design songs through the same lens as making something visually satisfying”. Though short, their debut album is electrifying, and after years in the making, the creative powerhouses certainly don’t disappoint.

Dummy | Trouble In Mind Records
Free Energy, the exhilarating follow-up to Mandatory Enjoyment is the second studio album from American indie rock band Dummy. Inspired by bands like Look Blue Go Purple and Dadamah, Dummy is a driving blast of dance floor physicality. A creatively restless and expressive band with spectacular harmonic balance, Free Energy are mysterious and memorable. The four-piece avant-pop band based in Los Angeles have aimed to make music meant to make you feel more alive and their latest record does exactly that.

Snow Patrol | Polydor Records
Northern Irish–Scottish rock band introduce The Forest Is The Path, their eight studio album and follows their first album in six years. Summing up the album’s theme, vocalst Gary Lightbody says “It’s a way of looking at various mistakes, any pain I may have caused, from a place where nothing is hurting anymore, except the memory when you pull it back into your mind”. An album rooted in reflection, introspection and interrogation with a broad mix of sounds, it’s raw, vulnerable, passionate and a return to their best work.
