With more than 10 live albums and several compilation albums, respected Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto is not slowing down. 12 is a truly emotional experience, as his latest record was recorded in the wake of a cancer diagnosis. The album is extremely intimate, as Sakamoto stares down his own mortality, for his graceful and wonderfully absorbing 12th studio album.

Hauntingly beautiful. Swedish band Katatonia add to their illustrious catalogue on their 12th studio album. The band have had a significant impact on death metal over the past 30 years, but have leaned towards a progressive rock sound on their latest offering. Now settled with their new style, fans will be pleased that Sky Void of Stars has so much energy and wisdom. Its clear that Katatonia still have plenty to offer.
