As we celebrate 40 years of Roksan, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the brand’s legacy and its future. We caught up with Roksan’s CEO, Rob Barford, to get his thoughts on what makes the brand so special, how it’s evolved, and where it’s headed next.
Roksan’s 40th anniversary is deeply personal to me and to all of us at Monitor Audio Group. It’s a celebration of creativity, individuality, and engineering brilliance that has endured through four decades of change. What makes it special is that Roksan has never followed trends; it’s always carved its own path.
To see it still standing proud today, with a bold new identity and a renewed sense of purpose, is incredibly satisfying. It represents what British audio should be: confident, characterful, and built with passion. I’m proud of the team who’ve honoured that legacy and brought it into the future with such care and imagination. This isn’t just a milestone; it’s a launchpad for what’s to come.
From the very beginning, Roksan stood apart by challenging convention, combining striking industrial design with high-performance engineering. It’s bold, inventive, and expressive, not afraid to do things differently.

Since becoming part of Monitor Audio Group, Roksan has been on a journey of purposeful evolution—not reinvention, but refinement. That’s a tough one, but if I had to choose, I’d say the Caspian Series 4G. It represents everything we set out to achieve when Roksan joined Monitor Audio Group. It’s beautifully designed, approachable without compromise, and technically brilliant under the surface.
With Caspian, we’ve managed to retain the analogue soul of Roksan while bringing in the kind of user experience, reliability, and integration today’s listeners expect. It’s a product that bridges generations, for those discovering hi-fi for the first time and for long-standing fans who want something fresh but authentic. That’s something I’m incredibly proud of.
My vision for Roksan over the next 10 years is to build on its incredible legacy and establish it as one of the most distinctive and respected audio brands in the world. That means continuing to innovate, not just in sound, but in design, experience, and how we connect with our audience.
We’ll stay true to Roksan’s roots: bold, expressive, and proudly British. But we’ll also push boundaries, bringing in new technologies, exploring new product categories, and creating systems that feel just as relevant to tomorrow’s listener as they did 40 years ago. I want Roksan to be a brand that surprises people, inspires loyalty, and always delivers music with soul.
