Our top picks for the upcoming 2024 Grammy Awards, where all the nominated artists are hoping to receive the gilded gramophone, at the music industry's highest honour and the only peer-recognised music award.

The 66th Grammy Awards will be held on the 4th February 2024. The event takes place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, and will be hosted by South African comedian Trevor Noah.

Lana Del Rey

Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd? - American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey follows up on her 2021 double release with Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. Stating that she wanted her latest record to have “a spiritual element”, Del Rey’s latest offering is complex, unsettling and profound. Under-appreciated as a writer, her latest entry is slightly obscure, with some fairly lengthy tracks, yet this ninth studio album is possibly her most important one yet.

Foo Fighters

Nominated for: Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Song, Best Rock Album

But Here We Are - Legendary rockers Foo Fighters tackle their grief as they return for their eleventh studio album. Following drummer Taylor Hawkins’ death, the band set the tone early on, pushing through the sadness. Every one of the 10 breathtaking tracks have a real sense of purpose as they explode into rock mayhem, and its likely that each of them will stay stuck in your head for days. Intense, astounding and full of spirit, But Here We Are is a poignant tribute and a masterpiece.

Arctic Monkeys

The Car - The highly anticipated seventh studio album by English rock band Arctic Monkeys is sure to get fans tongues wagging. With a huge UK tour just around the corner, The Car provides a majestic range of cinematic songs, full of atmosphere, ready to fill a stadium. Turner is undoubtedly one of the great romantic lyricists, and with the bands graceful and accomplished instrumentals alongside him, its a masterpiece.

SZA

SOS - American singer SZA releases SOS, her ambitious second studio album. Despite being relatively long, with twenty three tracks, the flow of the songs have been carefully considered, with very few filler tracks, if any at all. Emotionally charged, cohesive and full of character, SZA is a master of her craft. The queen of R&B excels on SOS, giving her fans a truly phenomenal record.

James Blake

Nominated for: Best Dance/Electronic Recording, Best Dance/Electronic Music Album, Best Rap Song (WINNER)

Playing Robots into Heaven - Playing Robots into Heaven is the sixth studio album by English producer James Blake. Following collaborations with a whole host of hip hop artists over the past couple of years, including Kanye West, it was a surprise to see Blake return to his musical roots, with electronic, dance, and experimental music on his latest album. With varying textures, ambient soul and pulsating synths, Blake is incredibly engaging and at times, haunting.

Olivia Rodrigo

Nominated for: Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Rock Song

GUTS - American singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo releases her second studio album, GUTS. With guitar-driven, soft ballads, Rodrigo conceived her latest record on her transition from adolescence to adulthood, exploring her sudden stardom as a young Disney actress. She wonderfully expresses her emotions and heartbreak with a real complexity in her lyrics that make her so relatable. Overall, a superb sophomore album.
